Well with the question of the variety and quality I am assuming you mean the food. I have actually seen a incline in the past 10 years of what they provided like with produce and alike. As for the incident you had it was most likely an isolated incident that wasn't intended to be rude. It can be likely a new employee who didn't fully know his duties of his job and it came off bad. Whenever I go through the line though they bag unless I am able to offer first but I usually just hop into the self checkout.
Don't give up on HT yet. I understand an isolated event can sometimes drive our actions; unfortunately, sometimes, people just have a rough day....
