I have stayed at this Red Roof Inn several times and have never had an experience like you described. I have been satisfied with all my overnights there. Sorry that you had an issue.
Honestly, if a customer had bed bugs or roaches at home and that customer slept in a ANY HOTEL , that hotel room was exposed to that bug and a pregnant bug could have crawled out of the past customer's suitcase. This is why it is important to check bedding before deciding to stay in each hotel room.
You really can't see true bedbugs with the naked eye, so its some other kind of bug, which is still suckey, I googled it, turns out I'm wrong, I hate when someone gives me wrong information
