First of all to clear up Amanda's misinformation: they will not and can not not give you a dyno test! BAD INFO!🤣 Do not think you will receive a dynamometer test for free. That test is around $400 to check your torque, force and power. Basically for racing and such. To reset your ECM/PCM ( computer module): Just drive over 60mph for around 5 - 10min , start and idle for 5min, 0-60 once or twice , every car is different. Your vehicle only needs to go through a cycle of driving conditions pre determined by the manufacturer. Google: "make of your vehicle " DRIVE CYCLE. Many test parameters are available to see what's required for your specific vehicle. You can take it to Autozone and have them scan it for free before you re test or get a cheap scanner off of amazon. I/M readiness test is what you need to check. Good luck!
No all you got do is run you car in the highway like for example from Cleveland Ohio to Lorain Ohio back and for and the computer should active onces you go over 60 for like a good time you forcing all sensors and the computer to read witch it mean the higher the numbers of your throttle position sensor and o2 sensor activate the computer then you could go e-check and only take a couple hour not a week like they say 1 run from Lorain to Cleveland and back is done
Amanda is wrong. This is a block and copy from the EPA's website. If the vehicle's computer is found to be not ready after communicating with the test equipment during the initial test, a tailpipe emissions test may be conducted. As of Jan. 1, 2013, 2003-and-newer model year vehicles will not be permitted to downgrade to the tailpipe test.  You'll just have to wait until your computer cycles through. The DIY test ata the kiosk will issue you a paper stating the car is not ready if the car is not ready. You won't pass if the light is on period.
They have the DIY stations that you just plug in after scanning your VIN. Probably save some of that headache.
Yes, or they do a dyno run in the shop every single time you take the car for an e-check. You have to sign a waiver for the dyno though.
