I have only needed to request 1 up to 3 days out. However if it's a big party they have let us know the more notice the better. We typically have a group of 10 - 12
I think 1 to 3 days is good but if you want a popular time like a Saturday evening sunset fir a big group then give it a week to insure you are able to get the time you want.
