Just came home from Grindstone. There is a store, good little market variety of camping needs. Are about 30 minutes to Chilhowee Virginia. Great getaway the place was full this weekend. Enjoy

Walmart in Marion VA along I-81 about 25 miles away from campground. Chilhowie (16 mi) is a nice little town w/ a small grocery store, it's called Food City, Comparable to Food Lion, older Lowes Foods stores, that scale. Damascus is about 18 mi from campground & we found a Dollar General store that had variety store items with a small grocery section. I don't recall if fresh items available (refrigerated stuff) or just pantry items (shelf stable). If you go to Chilhowie, be sure to eat at Riverview Restaurant. Nice upscale casual dining w/ excellent food & service. A nice surprise in a small town. A converted hardware store made into restaurant. Not fussy, just nice.
