Technically, when you pay for your stuff at the register, it at that point belongs to you. They have no right to ask to see your receipt unless you are suspected of stealing something. Personally I walk right on by. If they want to call the Walmart Cops so be it. The be product I paid for Belongs to Me once I've paid. 😁
Most would say, if you did nothing wrong it shouldn't be an issue but it CAN be an issue... If your in a hurry, if you have a cranky kid up your a** or few a plethora of other reasons, including the very simple fact that it's an acusatory act! It basically goes against everything our judicial system pretends to be about and backs up alot of people's theory's about being found guilty before innocent! If they have worries about large items that cannot be bagged perhaps they could take market baskets approach and slap a sticker on the box, barrel or whatever bulk item you purchased! The VERY WORST part of the whole process is that the majority of the receipt patrol, do not even inspect that well. Instead, the give the eye in the sky the assumption that they are doing their job ... Granted it's not that individuals policy but rather a means of income still .... Just walk by thats what I do. Some say it's illegal but I don't know. I think of it as the equivalent of our " right to travel."
...suck it up...rules is rules...😎
It was explained to me that the door/receipt attendants are charged with the task of checking the receipt for any products not bagged. Theft is prevalent everywhere just look at the presidential election..........people's morals have been in severe decline. So sad. Give the attendants a break its bad enough they have to be assigned Covid19 mask police duty let alone police isle traffic patterns.
I can't stand the Walmarts that do that and I won't shop at them anymore
I have been stopped before but with only things not in bags .anyone can put something in cart and walk out.
