Because the restaurant is busy patience is a virtue
And also, they are open 24-7. What could you possibly want that you can't find on-line, unless it's to place a To-Go order. If you watch, the host that seats people does that plus answer phones. If she or he is doing that, often no one is up front to answer. The other consideration is- if they are short-staffed because someone couldn't make it to work, then they're doing what they can. Re the answer of witnessing a Ring-Away with employee able to answer, I believe it. Good help is hard to find, harder to keep. If it were that busy I'd go to Chowking. But this ihop has been a godsend when I'm hungry, wanting coffee, and it is 10p-3a.
I went last night they only had two waitresses and we seated ourselves
I would never ever call an IHOP. I've sat at multiple IHOPs eating and there will be a person sitting right next to the phone and they won't answer it. Helping another customer or not, I've never seen a phone picked up or acknowledged at any IHOP. I'm pretty sure it's a part of their service they are trying to phase out....it better be.
Customer service is sooooooo slow, take forever to get your order. I sat here for 10min. Before she took my order. It's not busy at all, and I have thing to do Kimberly. Lol
I have no idea. I've only been there once but they were so busy I had to leave. Had people waiting for a seat for over 30 minutes (at the time I left). I agree with you though, if you have a phone then you should have someone to answer it.
