They do validate for thirty minutes the trick is to get ur ticket validated rite before u leave. U won't forget becouse u need the ticket to get out. It should be free. Works every time

Do the street parking if possible, that stupid machine ended up double charging me $20/each time and it still didn't open the gate for me. Had to get a security guard to open it for me.
You could park on the street (metered parking), or at the public parking. BWW doesn't validate though.
