They will give you a store credit card without a receipt, no problem, but there is some kind of limit per person for this, maybe three returns a year. They'll look at your ID and save the number to keep track of how many returns without a receipt you've made.
It sucks. If you don't have a receipt, it is hard to return anything unless you press really hard. Then usually only exchange for an item in the same department. But...their departments are set up really wierd. There are mini departments within the larger departments. Example new release DVD is not the same as older DVDs.
