No, this hospital IS terrible, especially in terms of people that are in pain. Three years ago I went into that hospital extremely sick with sepsis and Mrsa growing on my back from slicing my arm open on a rusty fence on a hot sweaty day and not going to get stitches because I didn’t want to go there because how terrible they are in the first place. Before I went to virtua, Deborah gave me pain meds and released me saying I was fine, until they called me in the morning to tell me to go straight to the hospital and the results of testing the previous night. Because I was given morphine at Deborah, I was labeled a “drug addict” and was kept in pain. I had to have a back surgery and was hospitalized for THREE months! All the while in the ER and my whole stay they were only giving me tiny does of pain meds for instance 1 mg of dialaudid every 6 hours even when the lady sharing my room with arthritis was receiving 6 mg of dilaudid every 3 hours even tho I was deathly ill....
No no no my dear, if you had worked up to the desk the nurses would have explained the situation to you. The Virtua Memorial Hospital is excellent in terms of patient care. It's never a neglect
Yes I have a rare neurological nerve condition therefore not many hospital doctors know how to care for it. Therefore I got a printout from the facial pain association written by neurologists that specialise in the co dition saying what meds are needed when I'm having an attack of the pain. Its labeled as one of the worst pains a human can feel, trigeminal neuralgia. Narcotics dont work for it is youd think they'd be willing to give me the anti seizure meds. I showed the doctor the paper. He took a picture of it he said for future reference and then treated me how he wanted even though he didnt know. He gave me an antiinflammatory slightly stronger than ibuprofen and when I was still crying in pain he said he wasnt giving anything else because he already pumped me full of that certain med. This happened twice, too different times. I am appalled.
There are 4 different sections at the E.D. that patients go to plus the ambulances coming in. Should they put your sister before a man having a heart attack? A child that was hurt bad in an accident? The hospital is not slow...they are busy.
I ran in to tell them my grandmother was having a stroke and they took their time like it wasn’t that big a deal they dropped her on the floor trying to get her on the bed and she died shortly after horrible hospital please go somewhere else
