I am aware of the local law. That does not answer the question of if propane grills are allowed in the designated picnic area. I just want to know if I can bring my nice grill or if I have to use the small coal grills they have built in that are ancient and dirty.

According to Local Law #13 Section 4 bullet H h. starting or maintaining a fire or open flame; operating a portable stove, grill or any other device for the heating, cooking or preparation of food, except in designated picnic areas and campgrounds, or with the advance written permission of the Commissioner, and then only with the approval and/or under the direct supervision and control of the Commissioner and/or Park staff.
