okay let’s say I was to get 2 tickets for my two nieces to watch a rated r movie , would I have to be present with them or can they go watch it without me if I bought the tickets for them ?

Be 17 or look 25 is the rule most theaters follow. Any guardian must be at least 21 to escort any number of minors.

You have to be present with them because they will check id when they take the tickets at the stand
