Not sure that monticello is any closer than Middletown take 84 to Middletown you can't drive 70 75 . If you take 42 to monticello there's several speed zones and turns plus traffic ..... Middletown is quicker I feel
There's one in Monticello, N.Y. It's actually faster if you take the shortcut driving there.

I live in Port and to me, Middletown is closer
I'm not sure about the distance from Port Jervis to both stores but it would be an easier and quicker drive to Middletown to get to Aldi's because of the highway you would take the 17 West towards Binghamton and get off for the route 211 take a left for about a mile-and-a-half is set back from the road aways almost across from ShopRite
Monticello and Middletown about the same distance from Port Jervis this week I'll be Cisco's in Monticello due to a Transformer explosion
