Yes there is fishing in staffins pond, right off the parking lot. Very good smallmouth bass fishing and bluegill too. No swimming tho..only the swim team can swim there. And no personal watercrafts.
U need to walk the path trail over at the end of the tent area, stay to the rite, to saffrin pond, or u can drive there. If u drive enter on the big path closest to the road, it will walk u straight to beach n u can fish anywhere. We like it under bridge. N all pets are welcome here n at campground. Only other bonus. Fishing is great and small swimming area. Its located b4 campground on right, off weldon rd. However, just no that this is all it offers besides biking on main rd of campsites. N showers n regular bathrooms r only in the rv section, go figure. N water spring is great, fresh, cold, taste's great as well, located behind Adirondack #4. Only portapottys are in tent areas n there usuallt pretty nasty unless they've fixed since last yr. Good luck! I personally wouldn't spend more than a few nites there again. Theres nothing locally 2 offer either n the closest convenient store is 4 miles, n acme is about 7. But unless you know where u r going, u will 4 sure get lost.
Bank fishing at Saffin Pond. No swimming in the park, however there is a water park at Sparta a few miles away. Also fishing at Lake Hopatcong and some nice trout streams in the area.
