I'm a bartender there and i can tell you no: it's the one place (i think) on campus that is open to the general public. The badge scanner at the front door is for employees/Compass execs to enter during non-business hours for prep work, etc. ... Which is confusing considering the place is in the middle of the commons with like 4 cafes around it that ARE strictly Microsoft employees/visitors only Hours are 11am to 9pm Mon-Fri

No, but I think you might need someone to scan the card to let you in. But I don't think they check the card when you pay :)
