The drive from Gordonsville to your property is one of the prettiest ever, when the trees are in bloom in the spring.....I wish to come up from Richmond for a spring visit. Can you suggest when the spring colors will be at their peak? Thanks much.

Terry is correct. It is hard to tell as it changes depending on weather, but you can't go wrong around here in April. It's a gorgeous month and we typically assume peak spring color will be around mid to late April. May is a gorgeous month, too! We look forward to seeing you!

Based on the fluctuating weather, that's virtually an impossible question and answer. However, the long-term forecast, which I usually don't pay attention to, suggest that we could be seeing color appear in about 3 weeks in the country. Cities in towns will be colorful sooner, in fact we've seen redbuds in total bloom already in the Charlottesville area.
