Many of us are under the misguided idea that the truck stops owe us a place to park. Those days are long gone. Real estate is expensive not to mention the taxes on the property and the ever increasing pressure from the towns people and the government to clean up the air, the trash the truckers leave behind, and the hazmat crew to clean up the piss bottles thrown about by guys too lazy to walk 100 feet to the free bathroom. Start paying for parking and buy meals in these restaurants and I assure you conditions will improve or the market will put these places out of business. Stop complaining about something you don't pay for.
This is the worst Flying J truck stop I have ever witnessed. I went there on 9/22/18, had been driving for a while and it was time for me to take my 10 hour break. So I found a parking spot, went inside to see what I could find to eat. To my surprise, it was an IHOP, so I ordered my food and as I am waiting, I see something out of the corner of my eye. So I turned to see what it was amd it was gone. Now im saying to myself, that can't be what I thought I saw. So I dismissed it and said that I'm just tired and needed to get some sleep. So after I left the IHOP, I'm standing there at the register when I noticed other people pointing, this place was infested with rats and mice. I look at the cashier and she asked me to do something. And that there was nothing she could do. Well I did do something, I got sick on my stomach. So is your ever in this place, stand in line and watch vermin play around the candy and the sandwiches up front and if you're feeling lucky, sit in I-Hop and watch.
Time and truckers have moved on
Too many trucks on the road... Not enough parking... Not enough courtesy.
