Cant believe the governor cant have the decency to allow online appointments its outrageous that we need to wait hours for something that takes minutes to complete.
Whole day but you'll know if you have to wait or not by 9 30 AM. I had to go 5 times. Here is my recent experience : 1. Was in line at 6 30AM 2. Got token at 8 45 AM 3. Went back at 3 30 PM (Real ID takes time, unfortunately there was some network issue at that moment, I was the last person to leave) Good Luck!
Prepare to arrive by 3 AM with the following items: (1) More points than what you need since the information on the website varies at different Motor Vehicle Commission (MVC) locations (especially if you want to obtain or keep your "Real ID" status) (2) Bring a chair (lawn chair, kitchen chair, folding chair, bean bag chair, you name it chair, etc.) (3) Dress in layers, it's better to be overdressed than underdressed. Bug spray, sunblock, umbrella, you name it, bring it -- (3a.) Bring water and a snack (4) Just take the day off from work to renewal your license. This is an ALL day process. If you do not receive a number at least you can request a "Do Not Wait In Line" Pass and it can be good for up to 3 week return. (5) Bring a pen and Read, Read, Read all the information posted on the Motor Vehicle Commission (MVC) before attempting to visit any of these locations. Good Luck & Let's Renew Your License!!!
