You can get a back country camping permit by mail. Then you just have to check the website to see where camping is and is not allowed. Most of the trails allow it you just have to be a certain distance from the trail head and off the trail ect. The permits are free. You can also get them from the ranger stations if you don't have enough time to wait for the mail. It takes several weeks to get it that way. Enjoy!
Given how close you are to big Meadows, you should camp there. Shenandoah National Park does not allow camp or cook fires in the back country. You are better off in the designated campsites.
Go to Big Meadows, very nice place.great camp store, public bathrooms. Then campground
No, you can't
You cannot camp on the trail, but there is a campground near by called Big Meadows Campground. Its popular so make reservations in advance.
There are some trails where u can, this is a shorter one, but may connect to some that would allow it. If camping on trail is not what u want, there are multiple campaigns in the Shenandoah.
There's a campground about a mile away.
I don't think so, but you can find out on the Shenandoah National Park website.
