Yes you should have got your food for free plus. Everyone makes mistakes but running a business and making two mistakes, you wasted your time going back and should be treated as a valuable customer with a couple free meals.

No. Absolutely not. Do you pay others every time you make a mistake ?

They do get a lot wrong. But they’re usually nice about trying to correct it.

Idk what it is about this location, but it's notorious for getting drive thru orders wrong. They've been doing it since I was a teen, and I'm in my 50s now. Never leave the window without checking your order, I don't care if the people behind you honk or the drive thru people get insulted. If they don't want their feelings hurt, they should do a better job. As for comping, I've worked in food service, you get paid to do your job right. The consequences of doing it wrong is comping meals. Comparing mistakes one makes in their private life with their job responsibilities is apples & oranges. They have computer screens to show everyone in the back what you ordered. If they can't get it right when it's right in front of all of them, they deserve to lose money. McD's isn't hurting for money, but if they had to comp a meal every time this McD drive thru got an order wrong, maybe they'd stop doing it. Over 40 years of incompetence in my lifetime alone - can't blame that on any 1 employee.

.no freebies, just give what I ordered and paid for. Always check your food before leaving the drive thru check it twice if you have to

For the inconvenience they could have comped your meal. Just good business practice.
