The trails in this park are easy to hike. I think kids 6 and older will have no issues. There is little elevation, and the trails can be rocky, or muddy, being the only problems. The trails around the reservoir are the most scenic.
The easiest trail is on the north side of the reservoir. From the parking lot on Newman Lane take the path along the road north, across the small brook, then follow the path as it turns right. There is a small water crossing that the kids will love, then turn right to walk along the reservoir. You can then turn around and come back when you've had enough or find one of the trails just uphill from the reservoir and loop back
