Two grilled cheese, additional ham, two soups and two drinks. The sandwiches probably came with fries , too. That's about $15.00 person which is a decent price from a dinner menu. I love the food, service and mood at this diner. As with anywhere you dine, read the menu. The prices are clearly listed.
Stop living in the 90's. The economy is bad. Nothing is cheap.

The sandwiches are usually too much to eat, and are delicious, soups are home made, also delicious, i don't think $15+ is too much for a dinner especially when the food is delicious.
I have been going to Golden Dawn since the 80's. It's not for everyone. Good food, decent prices and the staff is excellent. Convenient for my family.
I agree that's kind of a lot for soup and sandwiches but what I don't like about Golden Dawn is the phony crabby smiles in the place you could see they're miserable and not really friendly but grouchy but they put on a smile and you know it's phony and you feel like an intrusion in their time
Definitely not ridiculously priced. You figure 2.50 each per hot tea, say 8.50 each for the grilled cheese because I assume they came with fries, coleslaw and a pickle plus 3.99 for each bowl of soup. That’s 29.95 plus tax. You’re actually being ridiculous and I’m sure they’d be just fine with you not returning.

You couldnt add the prices to see how much it would be before you ordered? They have a thing called a menu and the menu there has how much things cost - these are called prices. 33.00 bucks for dinner out is not a lot of money. Also, a sandwich with ham and cheese is a ham and cheese, not a grilled cheese with ham.
