Light, or medium/light-medium, is typical of specialty coffee. More important though, and something you might consider, is if the beans are well developed (regardless of roast). At James, one of our Specialty Coffee staples, we can assure you: their beans are well developed and above all, deliciously complex.
Yes, they have nice modern roasts that are balanced and not Starbucks esque.
The baristas state that their coffees are medium roasts. The different types they offer present a little dark at times. I don't recall ever being able to get a light roast at James Coffee.
