People do bring their pets, however, I usually see dogs. I can't remember if I've ever seen cats there.
I'm sure you could take her, but I would leave her in a carrier when you aren't holding her. Sometimes people let their dogs roam and she would run away and be hard to find. Be sure to have a leash on her even when you are holding her. I took mine only once. It was too much for her. The Park itself goes around Trinity River and is beautiful to jog, skate, bike, or walk for miles.
