Great location and look of the building but kinda pricey. I paid 200 after taxes for just one night. I was expecting a very nice room with all the amenities. There was no fridge, no microwave, and NO working AC unit. The room came with a fan located in front of the bed. Good thing it wasn't a hot day. The hot water in the shower took about 3 minutes to come out. I was about to call the front desk.

Front desk was friendly and informative. Breakfast was nice but bananas/raisins for oatmeal would be nice added. Waffles/pancakes/maple syrup would be good options for us as we were plant based. Overall a really nice place to stay....

IMPORTANT NOTE - MEDICAL EMERGENCY While at this property we had a child who had a febrile seizure. The front desk had NO first aid kit with a thermometer, to check the child's temperature. There was also NO shop on premises to purchase any medical supplies, from band aids to tylenol. It took 25 min for EMT to arrive - and their thermometer did not work. It took another 25 minuets for an ambulance to arrive. And another 25 minutes to reach a hospital. 75 minutes in total to get to professional health care!! Again while the staff at the hospital were trained professionals, note - this is a small rural hospital. If you are suffering from any medical condition that may need immediate attention BE AWARE THERE IS NONE. They did have a defibrillator - thank goodness we did not have to find out if it worked or not. Every single establishment that has overnight guests should have at least ONE on -call staff person that has some medical training. Every single establishment that has over night guests should also have a small shop to purchase basic medical supplies! Free breakfast but dinner buffet was expensive and basic There was NO pool as advertised, but a large hot tub that was used mostly by children The game room, most machines did not operate and those that did took the money and STILL did not operate.

We've stayed here the last few years when skiing at Stratton. Each room is pretty basic, but has all the amenities of a basic hotel room - bathroom, bed, tv, mini fridge. Except this time our room doesn't have a mini fridge, so the food and drinks we brought can't be refrigerated and was spoiled. What a waste. I even requested one from the front desk and they did nothing. Mind you I'm paying $1000 for 3 nights and they can't even provide basic hotel amenities that are provided at even the trashiest, hourly rate hotels. This will be my last time staying at Black Bear Lodge. It's. It a good look for people paying all this money to stay here.
