I came in after getting a flat on the highway. I didn't have an appointment but the person who helped checked my tire out and said they could fix it but it would take awhile because they were slammed. It ended up being about an hour later and I got a call that it was unrepearable and I would need to get a new tire. Thankfully they had one left and prorated the mileage for the new tire (I got the new tires in november) so it came out to be 50 dollars. Another hour to install the new tire and I was on my way. I really appreciate the warranty and communicating with me that the tire it turned out couldn't be fixed and let me make a decision on what I wanted to do.

The tires took 3 weeks to arrive, but I had to find out when I arrived for 2 of my appointments. Third appointment was a charm. They look good but I'm very disappointed with my first experience in the tire department.

I called this afternoon to find tires for my car, the associate who answered the phone found the tires in stock and quoted the price for tires and mounting (not very competitive, but I usually like Costco services and thought it'd be worth it). I specifically asked if I needed an appointment to have the tires installed and the associated said "no, just come on in." So I made the hour drive to the store for tires only to be told by the associate at the desk that I need an appointment and the next appointment wasn't for two days. When I told him that I'd been told something different not even 2 hours ago by another associate they made no attempt to try to get my car in earlier or even apologize; 2 hours and a wasted trip later... I have to do it all again tomorrow to go back into town to a real tire shop to have new tires installed. Don't waste your time with Costco, their associates in the tire center aren't interested in customer service and their internal communication is obviously not consistent.

This evening I found that I had a flat tire on my car so I removed the flat, attached the spare and drove to the nearest service location near Gig Harbor WA. The only location that was within short driving distance and still open at the late hour was costco tire repair. This was great news, I had been a members years before and even purchased a set of tires with Costco in 2016 I remembered it being an efficient experience. I arrived and spoke with the service tech first who told me it would be 12 dollars and told me to go get signed up for service inside. The man inside informed me that since I no longer had an active membership, they could not repair the tire. I told him that every other tire repair shop was closed in a 20 mile radius. I was informed it was company policy that no repairs be done unless the customer had a membership. I asked if I could get a temporary membership and was told I could not. The service writer then directed me to the front desk where I was again told I would need a membership for a simple 12 dollar tire repair. I asked if they could sign me up for a membership. They could not, the service for memberships was down. So since the service to restore my membership was down I was told I could not repair my flat tire. They apologized, loaded up my tire and sent me down the road with a spare. In an attempt to get to the next tire repair shop I had an issue with my spare on the highway and had to call a tow truck. Thankfully no one was injured. This happened because of a company policy that prevented me from getting a quick and easy repair. I hope someone at the company can use this story as ammunition to change this terrible policy.
