Purchased a large amount of a mix specifically for raised garden beds as the soil at my new home is very thick clay. A dump truck came and delivered it. It smelled terrible and was FULL of bark chips and definitely far more sand than advertised. This stuff gets hard as a rock and dries out way too fast. Everything I planted in it died even with gentle organic fertilizer and I am not a new gardener. I also noted leaf curling and stunted growth consistent with pesticide contamination in plants sensitive to it for the things planted in their mix, whilst plants in large grow bags filled with soil from Home Depot thrived. This was for the same type of plants even! The only difference was the dirt. Fast forward to now (a year later), and with a year of decomposing, some cover crops etc, the McFarlane mix is in slightly better shape but I am having to amend it heavily. (Too much sand!!!) I do not recommend buying any mix from here for use in garden beds.

This is the 2nd time I’ve ordered fine compost from McFarland and I am so happy with them! Dan, the driver, is AMAZING! He called to make sure it was going to be dumped in the exact spot I wanted and it was a cheery voice to hear in the morning! Lori (If I remember right) is one of the office lady’s who takes my call and is super helpful as well. I couldn’t remember the name of McFarlane’s so I pulled up old credit card statements to find them because I knew I wanted to use them again! I told my mom how great they were and she apparently has also used them and nothing but good things from get as well! Definitely recommend. They were also better priced than 3 other company’s I had called the first time around and their fine compost is incredible!

Great organized facility.. friendly and cheap prices.. you can dump a truck load of yard debris for around $20. Great for young boys to watch Big Trucks..

Usually under $20.00. I go quite often and I never pay over that. With that said I do get a ten percent senior discount.
Thank you for reaching out Charlie, our 3/4 minus is currently $50 per yard. We appreciate your time.
If you are asking about the Scottish Blend or Irish they are $45 per yard.
Hi Jeff, a yard of fine compo-stuff is $32.00 when picked up. Thanks.
They also have a military discount but Greg is correct it goes on the weight of material you are dumping
Hi Arturo, We accept clean lumber (no pressure treated, painted or stained). Nails and screws in the lumber are fine. Thanks for the question and hope to see you soon.

Hi Ignacio, Yes, we take cash, checks and credit cards. Thanks for asking.
Not sod as a product. For example: sod sold at Home Depot or any place else has a mesh grid made of fishing line type monofilament. If you have old grass that was planted from seed, they sometimes take it sometimes don't. Depends on who checks you in and how much mud is included in the organics. They don't want tons of dirt nor the monofilament.
Hi Deb, Yes, we do take Christmas trees (without flocking). We charge $3.00 per tree. Thanks for your question, McFarlane's Bark
Yes we take blackberries, however, we do not take lumber as of July 1st. If you do bring in blackberries we appreciate it if there are no bits of trash like items attached to them, i.e fabrics, plastic wrappers, string, etc. Thank you.
The gravel we sell is 3/4" minus gravel. Thanks for checking!
