Every time I use this location they call me with a price after they've seen my dog. Then every time I go to pick him up it's always more money because he needs this and he needs that. No other location in the whole East Coast that have brought him to have I had the same issue

I have been with Banfield for over about 4 years now and they're customer service has really went down hill over the past two years. I recently moved from South Florida to Clearwater and took my dog to this location for an exam and some vaccines. Normally a veterinarian calls you to go over exam findings with the client but this didn't happen this time. I told the receptionist at check out and she informed me that someone would call back with results. I understood we needed to wait for results but I didn't understand why no one would go over the general exam notes with me. The medical summary is usually online so I didn't push it. When I got home, there were only discharge instructions and no medical summary. I call the office and the receptionist says she will leave a note for the doctor to go over the notes. Fast forward to 30 minutes before they close, no one has contacted me. I call the office again and they try to say they talked to my wife. This wasn't the case. I told the receptionist that I would like someone to go over the exam notes with me. I was transferred to a technician and she tells me my dog was fine and healthy. I asked some questions and she then informs me that my dog has a chipped tooth. Now why would you tell a client that their dog looks healthy but has a chipped tooth? I ask her why didn't anyone tell us this? This is really something that an owner should know so they can take precautions with their dog and it wouldn't lead to a fractured tooth! I really can't believe they were going to withhold this information from us! It is so unprofessional and I would avoid taking your pet here!

I brought my kitten in for a spay, but they told me her platelets were too low. That’s fine, but when I asked why they were prescribing melatonin to the front desk as I had never heard of it used this way, the doctor came out and her opening line was “Google is not a medical resource.” and laughed in my face. If I want to ask a valid question to a medical practitioner/professional I expect a response from that person as one. Not a dismissive one that disrespects me. Given a choice I will not be returning.

You can spread the cost of your wellness plan across the 12 months of your annual agreement to make it easier to budget for the essential health care your pet needs. Your monthly payments can be automatically withdrawn from a checking or savings account or charged to a credit card so that you don’t have to worry about them once you enroll. We also offer the option of paying in full if you prefer.

What is an Optimum Wellness Plan?

Banfield Pet Hospital | Aug 17, 2020

Optimum Wellness Plans are designed to provide annual preventive care. They include head-to-tail exams, vaccines, early screening diagnostics, consultations for proper nutrition, dental care and more! Since wellness plans are not insurance, they do not include treatment for unpredictable or abnormal conditions, however discounts would apply. Because pets need ongoing preventive care, wellness plans automatically renew at the end of each twelve month period (unless paid in full at enrollment).
