They are factory recommended, forthright about the time it will take to conduct repairs, and gentle in declaring a repair may not be possible. They seem to love the work they do and had a reference for older technology. I'm looking forward to a successful outcome of having my excellent receiver back in its place in my home theater system soon. Paul

Have used Inner Sound serval times over last 10 years for service needs for my tube amplifier heads. The previous experiences were great , i trusted their advice and work. Last feb took my vintage 73 Marshall to them as it developed an output issue. They stated it needed new pcb board , tube sockets ,potentiometer $400 quote for a new board from marshall, would take roughly a month to get it, i had a feeling it was bad advice a week later i went into the shop and halted work. After getting it back i sent it out to a very well know Amplifier manufacturer in hollywood ca. He got it done quick roughly $200 for repair he stated board was fine . I feel taken advantage of by inner sounded almost gutted a vintage super lead on their suggestion and at the end paid $250 for nothing but a hassle. I won't post on here what was said by 2nd shop but it was basically like it was the dumbest thing he ever heard to replace all those components on a very collectable vintage tube amp for no reason.

Over the last 14 years, I've patronized Inner Sound with quite a few repairs and refurbishments. I've probably done a good 3-4 dozen transactions with them and have been happy with every single repair and interaction. I have always found them to be very friendly, reasonable in pricing, and high in quality of work. What more can I say? Well, I guess I'll say that I'd send any friend there. One important thing to note with some of the negative reviews is that some of them are not reasonable. Consider for example if some guy buys an audio component on craigslist for $50 then takes it to them and asks them to fix it up, then gets mad because there's a repair bill of $190 for 2 hours labor at $85/hour on it and $20 in parts. Inner Sound has to pay the cost of employee time to work on the component independent of how much the component is worth. They have to pay for their employee hourly wages, they have to pay for the taxes and insurance on the wages, they also have to pay for the rent and capitol for the tools. I'm guessing that when they charge people $85 per hour, it probably costs them on the order of $65-75 per hour to provide that service.

From the first step in the door, I was treated pleasantly! I came in with questions about repairs for a receiver and I felt Mike was very honest with me and explained in detail what steps I should take. No selling me a service, no bringing it in for this much just straightforward honesty. I was also inquiring about a turntable and he was very helpful as this is my first experience with such. We went over what I was looking for. No sales pressure whatsoever. He patiently spent time with me to go over every inch of the machine I thought was right for me and answered any questions I had. This place is an example of what service should be. Mike and his staff are the best! Two thumbs up for me!

Hi Sarah, Thank you for writing. Michael D is correct - we repair cassette decks and Walkmans, please call any time for more information 503-655-2755. Thank you.
Don't know. They mostly repair electronics but, call them and ask.
Yes they do. They're the best at what they do. So put up with voice mail, and expect two weeks in shop before you know the real repair costs, but, they good and honest and warranty their work and estimates. I is a good deal
