This review is about the station, not the fanastic 5 star trail next to it. It's a cute little station with several exhibits. Takes less than 30 minutes. Located next to the Torrey C Brown Rail Trail. However the hours online are wrong. It says the station is open Wednesday through Sunday Memorial Day through Labor Day 10-4 but in August was closed on a Friday at 3:15. Also on weekends parking is next to impossible. People fill up the lot then start parking on the main street to play in the nearby creek.

Bring your own tube and tube for free. There are 2 drop in points one about 15 minutes down the trail the other about 25/30. If you're doing it..do it. The 2nd drop in gives you about 2 1/2 hr of tube time. Here's where caution needs to be placed. Both drop ins are indeed just that. The 1st was kinda scary looking with a rather steep drop, so if you have leg back or height issues this would not be where you go tubing. The 2nd, though not as much of a direct drop, if takes a minute to get your footing. It's more of a path with a tiny drop where you reach the shore. When my tribe and I went the water level was low but still tons of fun. Go after a nice storm. And the whammy...getting out! You literally are coming up underneath a underpass. Picture the concrete under a bridge, from bottom to top it sorta makes a triangle. Now after two hrs on a float you don't exactly have land legs so steady yourself for the climb and it's a wet, steep and dirty climb. Young and/or athletic..go for it. All others you've been alerted! It's free..

I love walking on the NCR trail. It's flat, shaded, ama had beautiful scenery. The Monkton Station parking area has a nice restroom.

One of my favorite trails to ride. The trail is a beginner level, very roomy for others to pass. I have traveled 16 miles in one direction and haven't hit an end. Very scenic. Great for a walk, jog or cycling.

Are dogs permitted? On leash of course.

Yes! But just be careful, there can be a lot of bikes, and they whiz by fast, so keep your dog close.
