I would not recommend taking your exotic pet here. The vet was ill-informed, refused to do testing to properly diagnose our hedgehog’s condition, then prescribed medication that is widely known to be neurologically damaging and fatal to hedgehogs. The staff then refused a refund for the medications and blatantly ignored communications from me trying to implore them to reconsider. RED FLAGS EVERYWHERE.

To the lady that said Dr. Bruce misdiagnosed her bird. You should be grateful that your bird is doing better. Unless you have another vets diagnosis you can’t call it a misdiagnose. I also have a bird recently diagnosed with an inoperable tumor. I am pleased that he is hanging on and doing better for the time as we were bummed also with the diagnoses. Does not change the fact that the tumor my bird has will eventually take his life. And posting twice on here to lower the Google stars is rude. Dr. Bruce has seen numerous of our pets from birds rabbits dogs Guinea pigs bearded dragon…. We appreciate him greatly and he is easy to get into see, not so much the other closest exotic vet whom we did try out and went back to Dr. Bruce.

Was hesitant taking my chicken here since there are a bunch of bad reviews and it was the first time i had ever brought in an animal to any vet. But i was able to get in super fast got a high recommendation from bird and exotic animal on aurora. I was impressed by dr. Bruce’s knowledge about chickens. He has chickens himself and answered tons of my questions and talked me through what he was doing. I feel like his attitude matched my expectations as well- Lets do what we can within reason, lets not try anything that will be a high risk of recovery failure (i.e surgery). My girl had a semi impacted crop and he did what he could (flushed and massaged) got the mass down by about 50% and sent me home with some medicine and a detailed procedure of what i should do. The cost was reasonable. And comparable to what i was quoted for the same thing at bird and exotic animal on aurora. I will be returning here.

The worst vet clinic I've been to! My bird got sick and wasn't feeling better, so we decided to see the vet. We called every single clinic in the area, but every single clinic was booked for a month in advance, except this one. We were so grateful for being seen on such short notice. Dr. Bruce assisted us. Oh boy, was that a disaster! Not only did he misdiagnose our baby girl, but he said that she has less than a few days to live and that we should put her down to ease her suffering. The appointment was about 10 minutes, in which we felt hastened. Dr. Bruce appeared to be knowledgeable, but all he was saying to us was that our baby girl bird is dying. We went home heartbroken. With a lot of research, we were able to save our baby's life. I'm really furious because all Dr. Bruce cared about was moving on to the next patient without giving us adequate care. When I called the clinic to speak to this Dr. Bruce and told him and grateful we were to be seen by him and that he misdiagnosed our girl and that she is doing better, and hoping to talk about further steps we could take to prevent this from happening. His response was, "Glad your bird is doing better, but we will not refund your money, bye". Just save your money and energy.
