I go to a weekly mens meeting here in one of their conference rooms. Very nice place and extremely peaceful. Its tucked back into tall Douglas fir trees. The rooms are very clean and the one we use has a large mural of trees on one of the walls and our group uses it weekly

The people in this congregation are so welcoming and kind. I had never been to a Unitarian service before and everyone I met was happy to answer any questions I had or share information about the denomination.

The adult RE program at WHUUF offers a number of ways in which people can come together in small groups to meditate, pray or, that perennial Unitarian favorite activity, discuss BIG questions! My impression is that our church is becoming a softer, more tolerant space than it was when we joined WHUUF a number of years ago. People Are much less contentious and are more willing to really listen to one another's ideas and opinions than ever before. I grew up in a Unitarian church in Colorado and for many years suffered the slings and arrows of parents who were atheists and very vocal in their denunciations of most organized religion. Like a number of people, they found refuge in a religious community that honored the intellect as the central tenet of The UU faith. Rock ribbed atheists, in my experience, can be just as intolerant. as fundamentalists anywhere. I think that our decision to hire a part time professional minister has begun to draw us together as a FAITH community as opposed to a 'lecture and folksong society.'

Not accessible by Trimet on Sundays FYI. Great people, warm community, insightful sermons and beautiful scenery, interesting artwork on display that changes every month or so. Stunning nature surrounding the buildings perfect for inspiring peace and gratitude. Just beware when getting involved that WHUUF (despite its best intentions) is highly unorganised and underfunded, leading to some pretty significant systemic snafus. WHUUF would be a phenomenal community if they could get more funding and direct most of it towards building a truly functional fellowship that works for all of its members.
