Very helpful to the community and really friendly employees. The volunteers could use a little more help. And the community could donate a little food to them. There shelves looked empty and the vegtables looked wilted and not very fresh.

Get there early though.. A friend of mine was given a new bike for her Daughter 1 Xmas! IF U wait till the end of the month, you'll endure lines that go on forever, hrs. & hrs. Be early, bring Coffee, maybe a fold-up chair!
You go in, fill out a first time application (while taking a number) and then wait for your turn. The lady at the desk will process it, and then send you to the second line for the food box. Then, once you get thru that line, a different worker will walk you through the food area, allowing you to choose whichever items you want. (According to family size) No cost.

Intakes are closed for today. If their are beds available the next time to check will be tomorrow between 1pm and 3pm at the family services building.

The Salvation Army only serves hot meals to the residents of the lighthouse shelter.
They hand out boxes Mondays thru Fridays 9am to noon I believe.
