Oscar is helpful and knowledgeable. He immediately answered my call and quickly responded to my email correspondence. He was able to make himself available for an urgent and important request. I would absolutely do business with him again in the future!

Contacted Oscar about selling my gun but decided to go in a different direction. Even though there was no transaction, Oscar was super helpful. He gave thorough reasons for his quote, and followed up by suggesting alternatives to him that might be a better fit for me, which he didn't have to do. Very appreciated.

Do not waste your time going to see Oscar. He seems like a decent person but he does not have a professional background in firearms or ammo. This is a hobby for him (his words not mine) and it shows when doing business. Firstly he does not seem that knowledgeable about the firearms and uses the ever reliable internet to get his information. I went to sell him a nice firearm that was compliant in NY so it was very basic and he was very confused by it. He also had no idea about the Mosin Nagant that I had for him as well and was using a website about "buying your first Mosin". I understand that learning about something is important but you should not bill your self as a professional when you are not. Secondly he is only going to offer liquidation prices so if you want to get any sort of value steer clear. He also will go back on offers after a couple days of thinking so my recommendation is if you do have to sell things to him take his offer on the spot because he will likely back out for petty reason. In summary while this might seem like a quick and easy way to get rid of firearms and ammo I highly recommend taking them elsewhere just to get a fair price and decent service. You will get more accurate and honest information. If you sell to this guy you are just lining his pockets with money or giving him ammo to shoot.

Called the company and had a very rude person on the phone that was rushing me making it seem like he had more important things to do then help something looks to buy a firearm, I will definitely be taking my money else where.

If he doesn't sell guns! What does he do with the guns he buys

Hi, This is Oscar, the owner of Portland Gun Buyers. That is a fair question. I only buy guns and gun related things, very selectively, for my own recreational use. If something of my true interest is offered to me, I make an offer. Otherwise not. I just like firearms and such things for recreational purpose. I am not in the business of dealing with them. To the ATF I qualify as a "Hobbyist". All this is posted on my web site.

Can i buy a gun from you

I don't sell guns. I buy only.

I found you during a Google search for an FFL dealer, are you able and willing to process online purchases and complete the requisite background checks? I know you mostly purchase firearms, but figured I'd check. Thanks in advance!

Jonathan, I don't do FFL transfers. The best place in Portland for that is Tigard Pawn 4 More. Oscar

I have a box of Winchester silver tip super speed 250 savage from around 1930s, the box is full and complete and figured it would have collection value. Can you tell me anything about the value? I have pictures but don't know how to put on this

April, Thanks for contacting me about your Winchester 250 Savage ammo. I am not a collector, so in my case, I would not buy for collector value. I only know of one person that owns such caliber rifle. It is an old caliber, comparable to the 22-250 still in use. I have a box of that 250 Savage, but no use for it either. Oscar
