This place used to be a community center that supported all views and walks of life. Then the old owners couldn't pay for it any longer. They were bought out by the new church. The new church only welcomes those that worship they way they would prefer you to, and it has become a haven for wanton proselytizing. Faith is welcome until it is thrust upon us. Long live ecstatic dance.

Great place to worship and learn about Jesus.

I attended this church in 2015 and I cannot remember finding a more anointed church before or since. Unfortunately I had to move back to California, but I still listen to the sermons from Door of Hope online because they are the most spiritually powerful and convicting. I remember Josh White being willing to talk with us after service and answer questions thoughtfully and without judgment. Of course I eventually hope to find an equivalent church in San Jose, but I hope Door of Hope continues publishing their sermons online in case I don't.

I love this Church and I feel God's presense here. Took a little while to warm up to people but that was mostly me. Very loving and welcoming. The women's retreat and prayer group have been so beautiful, encouraging and supportive. A true community!

Questions & Answers

What is the parking situation?

Thanks for asking! The church parking lot is reserved for ADA parking, and there is plenty of street parking in the neighborhood. We do ask attendees to be considerate to our neighbors by not blocking driveways, moving trashcans, etc. We have a drop-off zone at the main entrance (by the neon sign) for dropping off kids. There are also plenty of bike racks available, as well as nearby bus routes on Belmont and Cesar Chavez — and we also encourage folks to carpool with their community if possible.

Did this church used to worship at old Washington high school?
