We have been happily purchasing plants from Dennis' 7 Dees/Shorty’s Nursery for years, so they were the logical choice when it was time to rejuvenate/redesign our front and back yards. Lars Nielsen responded promptly and arranged a consultation at our house. He arrived as scheduled, walked the yards, answered questions and made suggestions for keeping, relocating or replacing plants. He talked about what was working, possible updates and design ideas for new areas. The information he provided was even more than expected, including maintenance and corrective steps for existing landscape. Top notch customer service – no need to go anywhere else for our current and future landscape projects. Thank you, Lars!

Jason designed two shrub pots for my house. They are really beautiful. All of the staff people were very helpful and recommended things for a very shady location. Great service and healthy plants.

I sprayed twice, last fall and early spring this year prefoliage with Neem oil on my peaches and nectarines but I see I am being attacked by leaf curl again and some sapping. These are young trees maybe 5 years old. What do I do next?

Steven Campbell | Aug 16, 2020
Dennis' 7 Dees Garden Center | Aug 16, 2020

Hi Steven, peach and nectarine trees are highly susceptible to fungal diseases and often struggle in our climate. We suggest treating at this time of year with a liquid copper spray and probably use copper or sulfur as your dormant spray this fall/winter. We suggest trying to spray 3 times: Thanksgiving, New Years, and Presidents Day. There are a few cultivars if peach that are resistant to curl; one is called ‘Frost’... if you want to replace your tree, this would be a good option, however it is still potentially able to be infected. Sorry to hear of your peach problems; we hope this helps!
