The taste is good/service is friendly, but the price is a little expensive. I would probably go somewhere else for similar food and cheaper prices. I spent $23 on a pretty decent portion of chicken and 6 crab Rangoon. It’s not bad, just a little pricey in my opinion.

Tried Hunan for the first time . Food was fresh and good ! Will be coming back with family. Great for family or friends get togethers. Great for private events as well. Thank you !

The servers here are VERY friendly and welcoming. The food, however, was mediocre. The egg rolls and pot stickers were just ok. The pan fried noodles had an odd flavor and were very different from what I'm used to with pan fried noodles. The beef in the sesame beef was very tough. We are not planning on returning and will stick with our favorite Chinese restaurant instead. We also felt that the prices seemed pretty expensive compared to other Chinese restaurants.

My wife and I are trying to find a good Chinese food restaurant in our new area, but we're now 0-for-3. Unfortunately, Hunan Star is the worst of the three we've tried in Des Peres so far. We ordered the General Tso's chicken with white meat and fried wontons. The chicken was very odd and extremely overcooked. It looked like the whole breast was breaded and fried, then it was cut up and each little piece was fried once again. On the plus side, the sauce wasn't too bad. We didn't like the fried wontons either, which were extremely solid and difficult to bite into. Free delivery w/ orders of $15+ is a nice perk, but unfortunately, we didn't like the food enough to order from here again.
