Don't really use Big 5 that much, but I was near the Aberdeen store for another reason and decided to go in because I needed a folding knife. I bought a Smith & Wesson border guard 1 (SWBG1) for $42 and some change. Got home and decided to look up reviews and found the same knife on Amazon for $24!!! Now I realize I should have shopped for the knife before I bought it. But at the same time that's nearly twice the price where does a big five get off price gouging like that! I'm taking the knife back tomorrow. I have not used the knife I opened it when I got home checked out the blade, closed it and never opened it again after seeing the Amazon price. Stay away from Big 5 sporting goods unless you've already shopped for price, they are definitely price gougers!

On our way to Olympic National Park and decided to stop here on our way. I walked in with my 2 young children to let them pick out some fun toys for the campground. I was immediately stopped and told I have to leave my backpack with them while I shop. I have NEVER been asked to do this in any Big 5 ever. The woman was so rude and treated me as if I was a low life going to steal. I can’t even believe how I was just treated. She said it’s policy and and laughed and kept holding out her hand as if I’m going to give it to her. Why in the world would I trust some small town Big 5 employee with the contents of my backpack? Hilarious. I would have spent good money there. Their loss.

As soon as you walk in the door you are greeted and asked if you need help finding anything. You immediately are profiled by what you are wearing to determine if you are there to shoplift or buy something. They don't bother to see you drove up in a 30k dollar car. So as you are stalked to the sporting goods counter you get slapped in the face with inflated prices for ammo. The prices went up at the start of the pandemic. I understand that. However there is no longer a ammo shortage and Big 5 is still price gouging ammo and taking advantage of customers. Hence the fact that their ammo shelves are still full. News flash, they are full because you can buy the same ammo for half the price from bi-mart without feeling like you need a no contact order to get the associates to stop following you like ninjas jacked up on methamphetamine. Horrible experience. If we are really honest. Who are you judging by appearance anyway. You work at big 5 not Nordstrom's or Gucci. Avoid big5 at all cost. Order from your friendly Amazon.

We were looking for rubber/rain boots. They only had a couple pair and none in my size. We ended up buying work boots instead as they indicated shipments were not consistent. I love my boots! Fair price too. The young man working the shoe department could use some training on how to interact with customers. He was very nice when asked a question but wasn't very helpful. He pointed to where certain types of shoes could be found but never offered to get any for us. When had to call him over every time we needed something. He wasn't busy, just standing there but not anywhere near us. We were the only one in the shoe department. I don't like sales people to hover but at least be nearby. I have a feeling he may have been new or his first job. He was nice and I'm sure will get better as he gets used to the job. Sales aren't for everyone but in time, it could work for him.
