We spent 3 hours here in a light rain and it made for an amazing experience! Each pool had a different temperature and different characteristics. With so many pools to choose from we never felt crowded! The views were fabulous and the little snack bar had some delicious food! Make sure you check out the Marmots and sand pipers down behind the family pool!

Enjoyable for all ages. There's a family pool and then there are 13 individual pools at varying temperatures from 98-106 degrees. You get lockers with your 2.5 admission. Towels are $5. Depending on what time of year you go will depend on what kind of robes you need and what kind of towels. Bonus that there's food and drinks (alcoholic & non-alcoholic). Staff is super nice, friendly and helpful. Shop has cool souvenirs, shirts, sandals, floats and other neat things.

Being my first time I would say it was an okay experience. There are different pools each with different temperatures ranging from 98-109 F. I only was able to try up to 105F before I felt like passing out since it was too hot so I left that pool and went to another. 99F was perfect but 103F was still okay. For some reason they didn’t have 100,101, or 102 when I went. I do advise to bring your own towel, robe and sandals. They have towels to RENT for $5, and if you want to buy a robe, they were charging us $100. I’m glad I brought my own robe. The water in some pools were a bit dirty and some did get filled up with many people despite the reservation system. What they do is they reserve different sessions with at least 2-3 overlapping with each other so previous people from the last session will have about 30 mins to an hour left when you go to your 2.5 hr session. I really didn’t pay attention to how much the sessions overlapped, I’m just estimating. They do have showers with shampoo, conditioner and body wash, lockers, hairdryer and bathrooms. The best time for me was around sunset. We were able to experience the pools during daylight, sunset “golden hour” and then night time.

The absolute BEST hot springs I’ve ever been to! They have one big pool & a bunch of small hot spring tubs (which all have the temp listed on the outside). They also sell food & drinks which is a plus! The view is spectacular & on the river! We will definitely be back!

There are two hotels within walking distance but for a cabin in the mountains experience, you'll have to travel a bit further. There are many welcoming places to stay in and around Glenwood Springs.

Can you bring your own towels in?

Yes you can bring your own towels and other garments for outdoor swimming and lounging in comfort around the hot spring water pools. I myself visited this relaxing spot at Glenwood Springs for 2-days across a 5 day visit to Glenwood Springs, Snowmass, Aspen and park walking trips at the Maroon Bells. The bracelets issued permit you to use the secure lockers. Enter and exit the premises during the day/evening if you purchase a Day Pass. Alcoholic drinks and food consumed at the premises must be purchased from the cafe and bars on-premise (age over 21). Iron Mountain Hot Springs is a child-friendly and family-friendly venue and vacation resort for the day and early evenings.

Is it popular in winter? Is there a place nearby to change right after?

The locker rooms have free lockers, very modern/updated, and spacious. It is great in winter. Sitting in the 105° pool next to the partially frozen river is pretty magical. Bring flip flops and a robe or extra towel to cover yourself as you go from pool to pool as there are around 10+ pools to soak in.
