Yes! Foster children automatically qualify for WIC.
Yes! Being employed does not affect your eligibility to apply for the program.
No! WIC offers all benefits to a client up to 6 months after the client miscarries.
All benefits are now loaded on an easy to use WIC EBT card. Benefits are typically added to the card every 3 months following the client’s appointment.
Due to the Covid pandemic clients do not currently have to come into the office. All appointments are over the phone.
WIC can have a food package tailored to include things like non-dairy milk, corn tortillas, some gluten free breakfast cereal whole grain rice and tofu.
WIC offers benefits for healthy foods including milk, eggs, whole grains, fruits and vegetables.
Children who participate in WIC have been shown to be more ready for kindergarten including better scores on vocabulary and math as well as more likely to be up to date with immunizations.
WIC provides services including referrals, education and food benefits until the child’s 5th birthday.
In addition to access to healthy foods, WIC provides education, breastfeeding support and referrals to programs clients may need to access.
