Chris is a great guy. He's overworked and a little scattered at times, but he does good work for an honest price.

I called to get a general idea of the diagnostic cost knowing something was wrong with me AC in my New (Used) Honda. Chris quoted me an amount and I got the impression it included the fix ( Freon needed replacing). When I got there the quote went down $50! And the price was for everything! He is super honest and trustworthy! Glad I did not go elsewhere!

I have been a service advisor for 10 years. I have extensive mechanical knowledge, but I am not a mechanic. I brought my camper van in to Chris a couple of months ago, because it had a check engine light, a power steering noise, a bad fuel pump, had a rough idle/vibration, leaky diff, and trans issues. I asked him to replace the intake temp sensor that I provided. I had to stay with a friend in Tacoma as my van was being worked on, and I didn't hear from the shop about what was wrong with my van until I called them a week later. I was told that I needed a trans mount, fuel pump, power steering pump, a MAF sensor connector and a tune up, to which I agreed at the price of just over $2900. A week later, I never heard from the shop on the status of my van (it does not take a week to get all of that work done, but as a service advisor myself, I know things can get busy and I didn't want to be "that customer" that nags the shop about my car). I called Chris, and was told that they were almost done with it, and I picked it up late on a Friday. As I was checking out, Chris listed off everything they did to my van, including work I never approved or even spoke to him about, including a full brake job in the front (including calipers) and the power steering drive belt! I just let it go, because $2900 for the amount of work they did was cheap. He also said he resealed my rear diff for free. As soon as I left, the check engine light came on, the van started running and vibrating worse than before, and there was a loud whooshing noise coming into the cabin of my van from the engine. There was a loud thumping noise coming from the undercarriage. I called Chris, and he agreed to meet me at the shop the next morning. I do appreciate his willingness to come in on the weekend to look at it, and would never expect anyone to do that. On Saturday morning, Chris fixed the whooshing noise that the technician caused, but kept avoiding the question when I asked what happened. He told me that the check engine light was on because of an evap leak, which he wouldn't be able to smoke test because it was a weekend. But since they had just worked on my fuel system, I was frustrated that there was an issue with that. In regards to the running rough/vibration problem that was still happening, Chris informed me that it was due to the distributor being worn out. I was confused as to why that wasn't caught during the diagnostic; he told me that the tune up would fix the issue. Chris told me it wouldn't leave me stranded and that I could bring it back another day. He agreed to charge me the price of the distributor and that he would take care of the labor. He told me that the tech forgot to do my rear brake adjustment. He also said he could not duplicated the thumping noise. Side note: the thumping noise persisted as soon as I drove off the lot, and I ended up figuring out that they had forgotten to attach my fender liner and it was hitting my tire as I was driving, so I ended up removing it myself. The next week, I was in Astoria, and the CEL started flashing, throwing a misfire code, and my van wouldn't accelerate, and it was vibrating so hard my teeth were rattling, so I had it towed back to Cars. Chris told me after a week that the dist. didn't fix the issue and that they were still digging into it. I called ANOTHER week later and he said the timing needed to be adjusted, but I know that the timing adjustment is done at the SAME TIME as the distributor. When I picked it up, the CEL was gone, but it was still running rough/vibrating. I took it to firestone, and they diagnosed and replaced an engine mount that finally fixed it. I also found out they never replaced the intake temp sensor I asked them to replace, and when I picked it up the last time, the inside of my van was COMPLETELY trashed. I know they had to move some stuff from the front to the back, but things in the back of the camper that were NOT in the way had been rifled through and thrown around.
