I should not have ignored the lower ratings. Prepaid two weeks in advance only to get there and only available vehicle was a dirty one with minimal gas. They had nobody to clean so ended up cleaning it myself, not a very good representation for Avis :(

What is the point of any reservations done ahead of time? Because they would call literally hours before (not even giving 24 hours notice) and ask not to go there the next morning because they can't give any car...oh, and mind you, this was conveyed very rudely! So, I travel all the way from NY to Seattle for a trip to national parks, and while I'm on my flight, I get to know this! How is this fair or ethical?! Should I just cancel my trip after reaching there?! Will you pay for the tickets and all the other associated cancellation costs?

Avis lacks customer service. They close at 3pm. We arrived granted at 2:58pm. The counter personnel stated with a negative attitude that they close at 3pm well knowing we were on our way to rent a truck for 3 days. They lost business which is on them. As a company that looks bad.

This place is a rip off. Get everything in writing even if the employee "is overwhelmed" we brought our rental back early because we had a fight to catch and the lady was on the phone with the other phone ringing. Feeling bad for I made the mistake of trusting her. She pulled the phone of her ear and asked if she can email me the final receipt. I said yes. Turns out she put the car into the system after it was due back. When we called about the extra charge of a full day rental this local dealer said that it was a mistake and she would update the system. When we called the 800 number to confirm the charge would be removed they said there was no such note. We disputed the charge with our bank and apparently rental car companies are allowed to charge what ever they want on the "final" amount. Stay away from here I now believe this was done on purpose.
