When I called the restaurant, the person who answered the phone took my order, but seemed to have trouble understanding me when I asked for recommendations. I finally went with the Mutton curry, and my husband ordered the chicken korma. I was informed that the wait would be forty minutes, which was fine. My husband walked into the restaurant and was informed that he would have to wait another twenty minutes and they were out of rice, which honestly flabbergasts me. How does an Indian place not have rice? He was informed that the delay was because they ran out of rice. He was NEVER informed that they were short staffed. I was NEVER told on phone they were short staffed. It was all blamed on a lack of rice which is completely ridiculous for a restaurant. My husband decided to give them that 20 minutes, but if they didn't have it by then, he would have walked out. They just barely made it. He brought it home. The food was nice and hot. However, there were other issues with it. I tried a bite of my husband's food. The Korma tasted as if they had added NO salt at all. Now I don't eat a lot of salt. Most of the time restaurant food is a little too salty to me. The korma, while I could certainly taste the other spices, was completely, utterly, and totally devoid of salt. I asked for a spice of 5 on their scale of 1-10. It was not spicy at all. The samosas were actually really good and well done. I liked them a lot. The garlic naan, however, was not fully cooked. It actually doughy in the middle, more than just a chewy bread, it was literally not finished baking. The mutton curry actually was quite a bit better. For once, a restaurant did not over salt it, but at least it had salt. The flavour was good. The problem was, I asked for a 7 on their spiciness scale and what I received was more like a 1, maybe a 2. I've also been quite frustrated by the two replies I've seen on other reviews here by the owner. Supposedly, all customers were informed they were short staffed. This is a blatant lie. On the phone, when he told me how long the wait was, I said 'Forty minutes? Really?' and his reply was 'Yes, that's right.'. There was no explanation as to why the wait was o long. As listed above, when my husband arrived and was told he'd have to wait even LONG, the lack of rice was blamed. I'm not sure I will try this restaurant again or not when we next come to Lancaster. It had good reviews from others, but it did not live up to them.

Never recommend for anyone. Very bad service, the guy was there very rude he doesn’t care about our service. Poor customer service and when we complained he said just eat and go wow, our kids food take 1.5 hour. Longest I have ever waited in a restaurant. We were there for 2 hours after being seated. Our drinks and appetizer didn’t come out for an hour, then the rest of our food came out at different times. Didn’t get out entrees until we had been there for 1.5 hours. Our side was forgotten about. The waitress did not acknowledge that there were any issues or apologize for delay, they acted like nothing was wrong. I would have appreciate an explanation and some transparency. It was pretty baffling. It seemed as though takeout orders were their priority. Never recommended for anyone.

Namaste has the best Indian Food in Lancaster. I would give it 10 stars if I could. The Tandoori Chicken is amazing. The atmosphere is nice with Indian music videos playing. Family owned.

Absolutely fantastic experience with Bhawana and Pratikshya as our servers. The buffet is back and hopefully here to stay because the food was slamming, full of texture and flavor. There was noteable new item, shimp zucchini that was out of this world. My little children ate very well and enjoyed this buffet right along with me and my wife. There were about fifteen items at this very "family friendly" restaurant and children under four years old eat free at the buffet. Highly recommend Namaste Restaurant.
