in town visiting family and they suggested breakfast at Gigi's Cafe followed by a short walk to the farmers market. I must say the idea of getting kids involved and interested in their food choices by giving them $2 in market script to spend on fruits and vegetables was genius. My picky 6 and 9 year old both enjoyed picking items they like out. So make sure to take the youngsters to the kids booth first. As other reviewers stated its not super big but the quality of stands made up for it. Im a chef by trade and I really enjoyed the food booths. I left with a few bags of produce for that nights family meal.

The Hillsdale Farmers Market has become something akin to church in my family -- a Sunday morning ritual that means a lot to all of us. Portland is a city of Farmers Markets, but the things that set this market apart are its consistently high-quality vendors, year-round schedule and community feeling. We look forward to coming every week, scooping up fresh produce and a treat for the road.

Great little market with lots of quality vendors, especially when it comes to produce. Also nice that it falls on Sunday, since most of the other area markets pile up on Saturday.

an adorable little farmers market tucked away in the community of hillsdale. we purchased all of our spring/summer garden plants from the market, which has a lovely selection of local vendors. the plants were healthy and are currently taking over our back yard! :) pictured is a crepe from the wonderful food truck Crepe Around Town, which visits often if not every weekend of the market.
