3.5 weeks of schedule/cancel/reschedule game of chicken. First attempt was 2 weeks to get to talk to someone. They cancelled 2 days before with only ever one time option for next week even after requesting an alternative. The second time they cancelled 3 hours before. Both times required my rearranging my schedule to accommodate their only one time slot per week. They reschedule for 11:30 on Monday. 11:45 Monday I called them, which they responded they were very pleased to know that I called before they could call me. Apparently the lawyer was just getting to the phone calls. Which was now my first indication that I was not the only person scheduled at 11:30 that day. When the call came at 1:30 p.m. it was very apparent that the lawyer was not prepared for my call because in order to talk about the detailed terms of my contract that I had sent over prior to last week's meeting, she was having issues with her computer and unable to access them. So great that a nonprofit could use all that money to just reschedule people and not really give assistance. Very very poor form for a nonprofit. Will never go to then again!

I did not have to wait on hold for hours or be told the call volume was excessive and try again. The volunteer lawyer called right on timd for phone appt. She was very helpful and did not make me feel dumb like other free programs.

I felt like the attorney I spoke with was the DA and I was on trial, definitely did not feel like I was speaking to MY attorney for my children and I. It was discouraging to say the least. I have called multiple times ccx without a response and recently sent yet another email with my new updated contact info and that is how your going to have to contact me instead I guess? It's been 2 years dealing with this and nothing's changed no papers filed and in the meantime my kids are growing up without me and the courts are not seeing any of the attempts to get them back. I'm unable to afford an attorney for the help so that leaves me stuck here. It's enough to make someone feel like giving up on trying and that's unfair.

The staff are extremely helpful in connecting you with a lawyer to answer your legal questions. They are not lawyers themselves though so don't expect to get your question answered same day as the program is designed to make an appointment with you and a lawyer. They have most of the forms you would pay $20-$55 dollars for at the court house. There open 5 days a week which is fantastic though they do sometimes take a lunch so plan accordingly. Also, if your legal problem is in regard to some paperwork bring a copy with you or email them a copy in advance and it will greatly improve the advice you recieve. Finally, the program is based on income so you should call in advance to see if you qualify. Hope you get your legal problems resolved.

Wow I would call the lawyers program. But if you have any money at all I would get a consultation first.
I don't think they have anyone that volunteers for med mal. Might be better calling actual firms.
You need to call and make an appointment
Call the office for this organization or visit them in person. They don't provide representation but they might be able to provide assistance or refer you to other resources.
They don't answer legal questions on Google. You need to make an appointment with the general law clinic.
I would recommend you ask the guys at this service. My only issues with the Sherrif were when I was a teenager and had a motorcycle. That one got serious reamed after he harrassed a bunch of us at a local store.
You should call and make an appointment for the family law clinic.
Not the correct forum for your question. It will go unanswered .
There are bankruptcy attorneys that occasional volunteer. You need to call in advance.
Yes, some of the attorneys speak Spanish, and if they don't, then we have an interpreter. Yes- some of the lawyers speak Spanish, and if they don't, then we provide an interpreter.
No lawyers work in the office-it is only administrative staff. However, there is usually someone in the office from 8am-4:30pm to answer general questions, do intakes, schedule appointments or refer to other resources. NO LEGAL QUESTIONS can be answered by staff.
