Lovely place for very "desert" scenes not far from the road.

Another beautiful day for a hike out here in thr Casa Grande area going towards Tuscon via the I-10. Going clockwise in the mid afternoon, this is a relatively easy loop that provides good shade from the Arizona sun as you make ur way up the mountainside but goes back to open sky as you head back down to surface level. Only interaction was with one trail runner so definetely a good place to clear your mind. If you are on the way to Tucson, be sure to stop by this place if possible!

Nice local hiking trails, lots of trails to choose from if you start at Arica road trailhead. Trails are well marked and various difficulties are offered. Even the ridge trail is not all that hard. Some nice views and seanery. Nicer to hike in the evening if you want some shade and a little milder temperatures! Also a mountain bike trail!

What a pleasant surprise. After what seemed like a rather long 40 minute drive from Maricopa we arrived to an almost deserted parking lot. We ended up on the upper ridgeline trail. They aren't marked as well as I would like...But, oh my the cacti views are stunning. A beautiful desert hike with minimal other hikers. Great view of Superstition Mountain off yonder. Only downfall was the occasional gunshots from the outdoor gun range that's somewhere within earshot once you get into the trail some. 10/10 will go again. The trail itself was easy. Easy enough for a 4yr old to make in and out unassisted.
