Like everything on the islands, this place is pricey, but we were impressed with the quality of the food, the selection of beers, and especially the warmth and friendliness of the staff. Our bartender, Tom, was answering questions for patrons and staff alike, and was truly on top of it. I was impressed with how the staff looked out for each other and joked with each other.

Excellent fish and chips— from the homemade tartar sauce to the coleslaw, it was very tasty and filling! Appetizers were also great, I think my favorite was the calamari. Tried the Pig War martini but found it a little weak, given its cost and components. My sister also commented that hers tasted “like nothing was in it.” But you can’t beat the view and atmosphere. We decided to try this place since it was such a gorgeous day and wanted to take advantage of what was left of summer. We sat outside close to the door going into the restaurant but still had nice views.The pace of appetizers and main entree was timed well. We started with the calamari and seared ahi tuna. The calamari had a curry flavor which made it unique but very tasty from the normal preparation you see at other restaurants. The Ahi was a lovely presentation, but we felt that the fish was cut small and definitely lots of filler (Asian slaw and seaweed salad). The local rock fish and chips was delicious the beer battered fish was cooked perfectly. The fries were some of the best I've had. The house made tartar sauce was super good with the touch of caper and artichoke. My husband had the Wagyu dip and he thought it was decent but nothing to write home about. The staff were super sweet and friendly and regularly checked in with us. Overall a great experience in Roche Harbor. Definitely will be regular stop for us when we come up to the island.
