We searched for a lot of years and are most impressed with this church so far. The reasons are somewhat subtle, but if you have similar tastes, then you might be able to relate. Some things are best stated in what the service doesn't do rather than what is actually offered. 1 - The music does not try to manipulate your feelings; for example, nearly all other churches offer an emo keyboard drone as a backup to the prayer or sermon. So far, this church lets the pastor's message sound pure and simple by not "enhancing" with musical overtones. 2 - The message is biblically based, without being fundamentalist. For example, many other churches a "feel good", without challenging you to truly do what is right. This church's message is scripture based and challenges you to strive for a better understanding of what it takes to be a better Christian. 3 - Many other churches dumb down the message as if "newer" Christian's can't understand the bible. This church seems to deliver a message on multiple levels to engage, teach, and extend the message for Christians new or old effectively. 4 - Sometimes the music at other churches is downright depressing. This church has (so far) offered a mix of lighter, truly uplifting musical styles with ever droning on in an "emo" style. Once they even offered a sight "country" sound to a song that I found to be a refreshing (non-emo) twist.

If you come to this church and Pastor Tom Olson preaches, I can guarantee you will hear teaching straight from the Bible. He will not twist the meaning to meet people's desires. He tells it as it is written. Thank you Pastor Tom. Just to be clear though, their guest speakers also teach God's Word as well.

Last year we walked out of the Christmas service and today I wish it was longer. Beautiful message and worship service. Also, thank you to everyone for making this place feel more welcoming than it has ever felt since we started going there 2 years ago.

We have been going here a few years. We really like this church. Great Godly teaching, and kids programs. They do outreach to the community. If you are church shopping or just wanting to check out New Life Community Church please feel free to visit. Update on my review. In January 2019 there have been some changes that have been challenging for the church as a whole. I have relocated to a different part of the area and do not go here any more. If you felt led to go please do.

Questions & Answers

Why did they kick out the boy scouts? Is it because they allow girls in now?

Not at all - There were space and usage conflicts/overlaps concerning the Aurora Day School that operates there (which serves students in grades K through 12 with exceptional cognitive, academic or behavior needs) and other groups meeting in the same space. The ability to open the space will be revisited after changes are made to the property.

How important is membership to this church? Wondering if you need to be a member to be involved? Thanks!

There isnt a "membership" anymore. If you make this church your home, there is a covenant you can agree to. The covenant is nothing unusual; Attend- you know, show up. Connect- find a life group (bible study / small group) Serve- use the gifts god gave you. Give- give No contract signed in blood. And decide if/when you want to jump and be "all in".
