I pulled in with a auto issue that needed to be addressed. The polite and helpful front desk clerk did some research and identified a place that could put my car on a lift and repair the problem. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. The furnishings are a little dated - but they worked. The WIFI worked great as did the shower. I liked the fact that this property had hot water available on the breakfast bar in the evenings. This was important to me because I like a cup of tea after dinner. The Breakfast was OK, an average Holiday Inn Express breakfast. I have had better and worse. The hotel is close by a Asian Buffett and a Denny's for dining, there is also a Wal Mart within walking distance (about 1/4 Mile). Grant hit me as a very friendly town. Everyone I encountered inside and outside the hotel property were extremely warm and friendly.

My wife and I had a horrible check in experience and while the young lady at the desk was very friendly I do fault her strongly for something she did NOT think of. We arrived and tried to check in on our cross country drive from the east coast and while we are finding Covid is causing some sad excuses from hotels for various things none have ever done this before. I tried one card we had just used the last 2 nights in hotels with zero issues. This card was declined twice. Not a chance this could be accurate. So I tried a 2nd card. Twice denied so we tried a 3rd card. Denied. She did reboot her card reader and this did no good. Not once did she offer to use the other station and that card reader and I just assumed that maybe it was just the card reader itself or maybe my wife and I were the victims of some kind of fraud and all cards were frozen. So my wife and I sat down and started calling these two credit unions and one bank. Yep. Three separate banking institutions here. I reached my credit union first and the lady confirmed there was nothing wrong with my card and no attempts came to them from this hotel. When I told her what happened with all 3 cards she said this was an issue at the hotel and not with our cards. When I told the lady at the front desk she then offered to move to the other station and lo and behold it worked. Twice actually. My phone received a text saying the authorization from the first attempt went through as did the card I presented back to her to run after she MOVED to another station. So now she was forced to have us pay ahead of our stay for the room with the card we wanted used so at midnight we would not be charged on both. But wife and I were in a panic mode as these were the only 3 cards we had with us and we had wondered if we had been the victim of a serious fraud attack. So we get our keys and go to our room. The room is fine and we needed some ice for our cooler. Ice machine is out on our floor. When I went downstairs to return the cart the cleaning lady said I could leave it there by the breakfast area and she would return it but I told her I needed to go to my car anyway. She said nothing about to be careful as she just mopped the lobby. As soon as I turned I slipped on the slick floor nearly falling and with my injuries and disability this would have been bad news. No signs were on the floor either warning us of a wet floor. When I came back in the floor had mostly dried so all good there. I asked where the next ice machine was and I was told on that floor. So I go to it and it is broken. No power at all. So now I have to hope the ice on the 3rd floor was working and it was. The room is fine although one pillow case has a pretty ugly stain on it and the fitted sheet had some kind of ugly stain on the side where it appeared someone wiped their nose on it and presumably it dried in. Just an FYI also. I woke early and came downstairs with my laptop while my wife slept. This hotel (maybe the first for me) has no snack area with snacks and drinks. I drove across the street and both convenience stores were closed so there is no 24 hour business anywhere in this area. For the price paid I will say I am disappointed in Holiday Inn Express and in particular this hotel and I will not stay again.

The front desk staff was very friendly and the breakfast area/staff was very good. The hallways were filthy. The rooms were also very dirty. The first room had beds made up but the bedding was dirty. The second room smelled terrible and was dirty. Wallpaper peeling, inadequate light in bathroom and no vent fan. The metal shelves in the shower were rusted. Great location but do not recommend staying here until it's renovated or at least cleaned.

I've never stayed at a Holiday Inn Express or any IHG hotel that was this terrible. There were stains everywhere, the bedding, carpet, furniture.. even the walls had stains! The floor was lumpy, not uneven, but lumpy something is going on there. There was no wifi and cell reception was atrocious - I had to take phone calls in my truck. For $40 cheaper, the BW across the street offered clean rooms, a decent breakfast, and wifi. So naturally I checked out after the first night. Keeping with this hotel's terrible track record, they kept charging me for another 6 days after I checked out! NEVER AGAIN
