We've stayed here a lot, we love this hotel normally. I don't know what it was this time but the hotel staff was not educated at all on their service animal policy. They gave us a rule sheet for their "pet policy" and then contradicted everything the paper said. We bring our service dog with us every time we've stayed here and have never had a problem at all. This time we were asked what the medical condition was as to why we had our medically tasked animal with us (ILLEGAL/HIPPA VIOLATION) even after I told the lady at the front desk he was medically tasked. The next day my husband was told he couldn't walk thru the lobby or sit in the breakfast area with him even though on their own rule sheet it states "service animal exempt". The manager needs to re-educate their staff on the LAWS of service animals and also their little rule paper. The paper literally states everything but the staff has no idea like they've never read it. It's pretty bad when we have to point out your own rules on your own paper because your staff is clueless to it. My husband's condition requires his dog to be with him at all times, it's ridiculous that he was treated the way he was at your hotel. Definitely makes us never want to come back that's for sure.

The breakfast was pretty good (B&G) but the overall cleanliness of the hotel was less than expected. It was obvious that housekeeping has been scaled back. Nice to have 2 hot tubs (one inside and one outside). If the increased housekeeping and upkeep of the outside area, this would be a 4 star rate.

Positive: Staff where friendly and very nice and the lobby was beautiful. The breakfast buffet was nice too. Negative: The bathroom was dirty, You could see black footprints in the shower that could have been cleaned. The showerhead had some sort of orangish I don't know on it or coming out of it. The grout and tile were so black. 5am the garbage man came too.

Enjoyed our stay here. Large indoor pool and hot tub additional hot tub outdoors. Temperature was just right. Breakfast was well stocked. Attendant was friendly and wanted to be sure everyone was pleased with their Breakfast. A rarity these days. Our room was clean. Good selection of cable channels. Beds were a bit on the harder side. Nice clean hotel with a lodge feel. Definitely would stay again. Montrose Co is definitely on 🔥 what a hidden gem! Beautiful area with plenty of amenities.
